Elevating the B2B Video

We were asked to create a B2B video surrounding Duke Energy’s transformative journey in creating…bored, yet? Exactly. The real challenge is, well, B2B videos. They’re hard to do well. Instead of relying on talking heads, we used Duke Energy’s innovative technology as an opportunity to tell a compelling story. We visualized a massive thunderstorm and brought an app, hundreds of thousands depend on during an outage to life.

 

Our Brief

Duke Energy is one of the largest energy companies in the world. When they partnered up with VMware, they started creating innovative apps that delivered better results, faster, for their massive customer base.

Our job was to tell that story in the most engaging way possible.

Visualizing An App Thousands Use During A Power Outage

A vital role for Duke Energy is both supplying power to millions of people, as well as communicating with them when it goes out.

Duke Energy transformed this mission into a powerful app. Customers informed, real-time, throughout a power outage, through an app robust enough to handle surges of unexpected traffic.

We told the story through a personal lens. The aim was to connect viewers with the feeling of uncertainty when we lose power. We strove to communicate: These aren’t just app downloads, they’re real people.

Through pre-interviews, research, production and VFX, we followed one person’s experience—from losing power in the city to instant communication with Duke Energy.
